PR news and ideas for small business owners
Thanks so much for your kind comments on the first monthly update we sent out in November. Unbelievably, a month has passed and we’re now firmly in Christmas mode and looking ahead to 2016!
Most magazines will be looking at February stories, but there is still scope if you have something to promote at Christmas. There are still some daily and weekly newspapers, as well as blogs as online outlets who would still consider Christmas stories.
In the last month, we’ve been working with a variety of clients in order to get them coverage, ranging from kitchen fitters to chefs to nutritionists and medical professionals. It just goes to show that everyone has a story to tell, and something to offer newspapers and magazines, whether it’s an event, a nice client story or a thought leadership piece on the state of their industry.
In much the same way that many people start to think about fitness and self-improvement in January, a lot of people wait until the New Year to kick-start their marketing and PR endeavours.
If you need a hand with this, we’re holding an informal brainstorming event on Thursday, 14th January. A small group of us will run through some ideas and you should finish the session with a plan to work with, whether it’s press release ideas, or themes for your blog posts. We will also hold a session on how to write a press release so that if you have a story, you can present it to the press in the best light possible.
All sessions take place in Hungerford (address on booking confirmation)

I’m also looking for someone local to be my first interviewee of 2016 on my parenting blog (www.newburymummy.com) so please have a look and let me know if this could be you. Look at it as a practice run for being interviewed by a journalist!
I’d like to thank you for all of your support and kindness throughout 2015. I’m hugely grateful the nature of my business means I get to spend my time with inspiring business owners like you!
I hope it's not too early to wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very happy 2016!
